The Wye & Usk Foundation "The Wye Foundation was formed in 1995 as a response to declining fish numbers in the River Wye. Achieving registered charity status in 2000 we launched a succession of partnership projects totalling several million pounds to help address the problems this river faced. In 2002, following a successful collaboration with the United Usk Fishermen's Association to buy off the nets that were affecting both rivers, we became the Wye & Usk Foundation. A further £0.9m project to restore the Usk commenced in 2004. An independent charity, core funded by private contributions, the Wye & Usk Foundation continues to work to protect and improve the environment of the two rivers."
