The Brecon Beacons National Park emphasises that "it is an offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988 section 34 (as amended) to ride or drive a mechanically propelled vehicle without permission on common land, hill land, moorland, land not forming part of a road (except for a distance of 15 yards, but then only to park), or on a footpath, bridleway or restricted highway."
