Horses

Two groups of unbroken Welsh mountain ponies are usually present on the common land at the head of the Senni Valley. They are among the last of the strong horses that were used to work farms in the Valley until the introduction of tractors in the Second World War, when extra food was grown in Senni Valley for the war effort. They stay out throughout the year, but may have to be fed when there is snow.
